Job summary

SmithRx is seeking a Plan Operation Pharmacist to support clinical needs for client implementations and ongoing operational leadership. You will deliver expert pharmacotherapy insights, collaborate across teams, and provide proactive recommendations to optimize formulary design and cost savings for new client groups.

In this role, you will communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, stay current on market trends, and contribute to go-live activities with clinical marketing

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD or RPh)
• Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in state of primary residence
• 3+ years of licensed pharmacist experience
• 2+ years healthcare benefits or pharmacy plan design knowledge preferred
• 2+ years in a client-facing role with external clients
• Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for customer experience and satisfaction
• Collaborative, cross-functional team orientation
• Ability to work independently and as part of an extended team
• Self-driven with a results-oriented work ethic
• Empathic consultative communicator

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with clients and Implementation Managers to provide clinical insights on drug spend, utilization, and formulary compliance.
• Serve as a clinical subject matter expert to support Plan Operations activities.
• Acts as a clinical liaison between Plan Operations and internal SmithRx teams.
• Explain formulary and clinical program value to clients and internal teams.
• Support communications of formulary changes and program updates.
• Recommend clinical programs to provide cost savings for clients and members.
• Stay current with market trends and provide clinical market intelligence.
• Communicate drug information to clients and respond to plan-specific inquiries.
• Create and update clinical marketing materials to support go-live activities.
• Analyze data and interpret drug benefit designs, communicating needs to supporting departments
