Job summary

Grand Valley State University is seeking a full-time Clinical Initiatives Specialist to collaborate with health programs supporting student clinical placements. The role includes identifying placement opportunities, facilitating onboarding documents, managing the recognition program for preceptors, and creating placement reports.

The position includes a starting salary of $61,000 with a comprehensive benefits package and tuition waiver.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health-related field required.
• 3–5 years progressively responsible positions in clinical, health care administration or higher education health program settings.
• High level time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Proficiency in English and grammar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with contract management.

Responsibilities

• Interface with a variety of health professionals regarding clinical placements.
• Assist academic programs to identify and secure clinical placement sites for students.
• Manage the database for clinical placement and preceptor information.
• Create clinical placement and preceptor reports each semester and as requested.
• Manage the GVSU Preceptor Perks Program including enrollment coordination and cross-department collaboration.
• Coordinate fit testing for academic programs and manage staff competencies.
• Assist with health compliance audits and student communication.
• Assist with laboratory, immunization, and other health compliance document processing.
• Assist with affiliation agreement contract coordination.
• Assist with department communication including website maintenance.
• Promote professionalism and good working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and clinical practice sites.
