Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to optimize patient care through expert drug therapy and comprehensive reviews. You will discuss drug plans with the care team, mentor residents, and help implement clinically proven pathways to improve safety and outcomes.

This role emphasizes leadership in a hospital setting, licensure in PA or eligibility, and potential PGY2 preference to advance clinical practice within the network.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) or 4 years of demonstrated clinical experience.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in PA or eligible to obtain licensure within 120 days.
• PGY2-Residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides pharmaceutical care in their specialty area, reviews patient history, offers drug therapy recommendations, and counsels patients.
• Plans and measures clinical processes to improve outcomes and analyzes data for reports used by committees.
• Mentors and trains pharmacy staff, residents, students, and healthcare providers to strengthen clinical practices.
• Promotes interdisciplinary teamwork and develops clinical pathways to improve medication safety and utilization.
• Contributes input to planning pharmaceutical care aligning with department goals and may support supervision duties.
• Instructs and mentors residents to become clinical specialists when applicable.
