Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a highly experienced pharmacist to optimize patient care through rational and cost-effective drug therapy. You will develop and provide clinical services, monitor drug therapy, and participate in drug formulary reviews and research while educating staff and trainees.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) or 4 years of demonstrated clinical experience.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of PA or eligible to obtain licensure within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides pharmaceutical care in their specialty practice area including reviewing and evaluating patients' drug/medical history and providing drug therapy recommendations.
• Plans and evaluates clinical processes to improve outcomes and minimize adverse drug events; coordinates Drug Utilization Evaluations (DUEs).
• Develops staff through coaching and training of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Residents, students and healthcare providers.
• Promotes interdisciplinary teamwork and implementation of clinical pathways to ensure safe medication use.
• Provides input in planning pharmaceutical care to meet department goals; may assist Pharmacy Practice Supervisor duties.
• Mentors Pharmacy Residents to become clinical specialists.
• Contributes to medical community by presenting research or publishing results.

Education
