Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacist to optimize pharmacotherapy and ensure safe, cost-effective medication use within the hospital setting. You will review prescriptions, provide drug information, and supervise pharmacy staff to maintain efficient operations.

The position emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, adherence to regulations, inventory management, and patient-centered care across the department. A PharmD and PA/NY licensure eligibility are required or anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in PA and/or NY at hire or sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and conduct prospective drug reviews, ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective therapies.
• Provide accurate and timely drug information to health professionals, patients and the public; document interventions and outcomes.
• Assist department management; supervise and train technicians, externs, and students; oversee inventory and controlled substances compliance.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and participate in safety and regulatory compliance efforts.
• Support night pharmacist duties including triaging and resolving medication-related issues; assist in IT, automation and operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
