Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacy trainee to engage in post-graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision to fulfill State Board requirements. You will provide consultations on medication use, drug interactions, and preventive services such as immunizations, while ensuring proper dispensing and compliance with regulations.

You will support workflow, help optimize inventory and financials, and assist the pharmacy manager in enhancing customer experience across retail, clinical and wellness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from international program and licensure pathway.
• FPGEC certification required for practice in the U.S.
• Intern permit/certificate required or obtainable per state rules.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients under direct supervision on medication usage, interactions and safety.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Reviews and dispenses prescribed medications accurately per regulations and policies.
• Supports efficient pharmacy workflow and inventory management; assists manager.
• Assists with immunizations and preventive health services and patient education.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems and processes to support staff and customers.
