Responsibilities

• Checks all medications leaving the department for quality assurance.
• Has working knowledge of chemotherapy agents.
• Has working knowledge of IV admixture.
• Has working knowledge of narcotic control.
• Dispenses medications from physician orders.
• Enters orders into the computer and ensures proper dosing.
• Communicates with healthcare professionals regarding orders and questions.
• Plans and updates pharmacy services to maintain high standards of practice.
• Oversees pharmacy technicians and Omnicell system operations.
• Demonstrates pharmacokinetic dosing and monitors for adverse drug reactions.
