Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed pharmacist to support pharmaceutical services across the Medical Center, ensuring accurate dispensing, therapeutic drug monitoring, and patient dosing.

The role requires proficiency with chemotherapy agents, IV admixture, narcotic control, and pharmacokinetic dosing, with collaboration among clinicians to optimize therapy and safety. Responsibilities include evaluating orders, counseling healthcare teams, and improving service quality.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist required with active license (IDFPR or equivalent).
• Experience or ability to retrieve information about chemotherapy agents and supportive care.
• Knowledge of IV admixture, narcotic control, and drug safety monitoring.
• Ability to work with pharmacy computer systems and document dosing and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Check all medications leaving the department for accuracy and quality.
• Dispense medications per physician orders with timely entry into the system.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals about orders, interactions, and dosing.
• Assist in planning new functions and updating pharmacy services to maintain high standards.
• Participate in in-service programs and department or cross-department projects.
• Monitor adverse drug reactions and ensure correct unit dose and IV preparations.
