Job summary

University of Michigan Health System seeks a part-time TEMP Pharmacist - Specialty Pharmacy to join a dedicated team delivering specialty care. responsibilities include clinical services such as patient assessment, medication review and reconciliation, counseling and education, and coordinating with UMHS providers.

Hybrid/onsite work within Michigan is available; licensure in Michigan is required, with a focus on quality improvement and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in Michigan (including a controlled Substance license), or eligibility to become licensed within 90 days of employment start date. Pharmacist preceptor license is required following State licensure.
• Ability to perform a variety of manual dexterity movements, including keyboarding; fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized patient care plans and perform therapy baseline and periodic reassessment for enrolled patients prior to dispensing.
• Provide medication reviews, reconciliation, drug interaction assessment, side effect management, and comprehensive medication reviews.
• Support clinic providers in selecting specialty medications and writing insurance coverage appeal letters.
• Provide supervision of technical staff and contribute to accreditation maintenance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate the mission and values of University of Michigan Health System.
