Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Valid Michigan Controlled Substance license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
• Graduate of College of Pharmacy; Bachelor’s in Pharmacy required.
• Hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medication orders per provider request according to established profiles, procedures, and protocols.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and reviews work daily.
• Ensures safe, cost-effective medication management per policies and standards.
• Advises on pharmacokinetic dosing and anticoagulant dosing services.
• Monitors patient responses to drug therapy and recommends alternatives when needed.
• Provides education on medications to staff, patients and families.
• Compounds nonsterile and sterile medications per USP standards.
• Responds to codes and emergencies as required.
