Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a licensed pharmacist to monitor drug therapy, ensure optimal patient outcomes, and supervise pharmacy staff at Huntsville area facilities. The role emphasizes cost-effective pharmacotherapy and accurate medication distribution.

Applicants should hold a PharmD/BSPharm with Alabama licensure; post-graduate residency or clinical experience is preferred. AHA BLS certification is required or to be obtained during orientation, in a fast-paced hospital

• Pharmacy degree (PharmD or BSPharm) and Alabama pharmacist license required.
• Post-graduate residency or clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Current AHA BLS certification required or to be provided by orientation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor drug therapy to improve patient outcomes and rationalize therapy.
• Recommend cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and manage distribution.
• Supervise pharmacy technical staff and oversee nutrition support/PK regimens.
• Implement and evaluate pharmacotherapy regimens in a fast-paced setting.

Overview

Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff. $25,000 Sign On Bonus.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university with license to practice pharmacy in Alabama required; completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period. Experience: Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical practice strongly preferred. Additional Skills/Abilities:Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be proficient in mathematics.
