Huntsville Hospital Health System in Madison, AL seeks a pharmacist to monitor drug therapy and improve patient outcomes within a busy hospital setting.

You will recommend cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic options, ensure accurate medication distribution, and implement nutrition support and pharmacokinetic regimens.

Candidates must hold a PharmD or BS Pharmacy and an Alabama license; postgraduate residency or clinical experience is strongly preferred.

Overview

Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens.

Supervises pharmacy technical staff.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university with license to practice pharmacy in Alabama required; completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.

Experience

• Completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical practice strongly preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities

• Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Must be proficient in mathematics.
