Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite and remote examinations, performing pre-exam tests, and explaining each step of the process. This role acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists, supporting the initial patient journey.

The position requires one year of related experience, HS diploma or GED, and training is provided.

Qualifications

• One year of related optical or healthcare experience.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Medical office professionalism required.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and document medical history in EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor and explain testing steps to patients.
• For remote exams, aid testing and initiate video conferencing with remote staff.
• Coordinate scheduling and manage exam books with the retail team.
• Maintain patient records and educate patients on contact lenses.
