Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for onsite or remote examinations, completing pre-exam diagnostic tests, and explaining each step of the process. The role acts as a liaison between patients and Optometrists and participates in the initial steps of a patient journey.

The position supports both in-store and remote eye exams, with training provided, and requires strong customer service,

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Completing patient registration, gathering and submitting pertinent patient information into EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with patient care and eye examinations; explain preliminary testing and document results in EMR.
• For remote appointments, assist patients through remote eye exam process including pre-testing and testing, document results.
• In partnership with retail associates, schedule appointments and manage exam books per Company guidelines.
• Maintain patient flow, answer clinical questions, triage emergencies, and maintain patient records.
