Job summary

The University of Miami’s Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology on the UHealth Campus seeks a Full-Time Supervisor, Clinical Business Operations to oversee daily clinical operations, ensure patient-centered service, and coordinate with faculty, staff physicians and advanced practice providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Designs and generates clinical reports. Such as Press Ganey, NICE, Open encounters, etc.
• Act as a coach and mentor for lower-level staff as they develop in their role.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the division and compliance with University policies and procedures.
• Ensures employees are trained on the controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
• Assist administrator with preparation of clinical productivity reports with data such as RVUs, Utilization rate, New Patient Access.
• Facilitates the prompt resolution of problems related to pre and post care that arise in daily clinical operations. This employee will also be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of a clinical team with several faculty members, staff physicians and advanced nurse practitioners.
• Develops and promotes the use of effective methods of communicating with physicians, managers, peers, trainees, and staff on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with credentialing, enrollment, and on-boarding and offboarding of clinical faculty and staff.
• Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of clinical reimbursement and managed care issues.
• Improve access to care for SDGs with high demand such as Sarcoma, GI and Breast.
• Communicates any patient flow issues to appropriate managing staff. Initiates performance management processes to address on-going performance issues.
