Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Resource Coordinator Nurse to support daily operations of medical practice sites, supervise clinical and administrative staff, and coordinate provider schedules. The role influences patient care quality through leadership and clinical oversight.

Under supervision of the Medical Director and Practice Manager, you will ensure service excellence, manage practice collections, and contribute to cost containment while fostering a patient-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of three years of work experience in a medical or related business.
• Comprehension of insurance plans including HMO, PPO, POS, commercial, Medicare, Medicaid.
• Solid understanding of patient flow in a medical office.
• Leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of medical software, Word, and Excel.
• Experience managing daily cash activity and reconciling income reports with daily payments.
• Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse or eligible in the State of Illinois.
• CPR

Responsibilities

• Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff.
• Monitors staff orientation and identifies instructional needs.
• Schedules staff for adequate coverage.
• Maintains attendance records.
• Provides feedback to manager regarding staff performance.
• Assists manager in evaluating performance expectations.
• Serves as a clinical resource to staff.
• Contains costs while ensuring high quality service.
• Ensures staffing levels meet department guidelines.
• Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for efficiency.
• Supports quality assurance programs for the department.
• Provides clinical expertise and support for clinical staff.
• Performs ongoing assessment of assigned patients and plan of care in coordination with clinical pathway.
