Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing; minimum two years in a clinical area.
• Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois.
• Two or more years in clinical specialty.
• Holds Magnet recognized certification or intends to obtain within 1 year (specialty certification preferred).
• CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations on a shift basis per policies and regulations.
• Coordinates shift staffing to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.
• Directs patient care provided by nurses and support personnel for a specific shift.
• Leads initiatives and participates in hospital committees or task forces.
• Communicates with patients and families about nursing care and plans.
