Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Anderson Hospital. The student provides direct patient care under RN guidance and participates in patient data collection, vital signs, and basic hygiene tasks while developing clinical skills through shadowing and hands-on practice.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a nursing program with at least one clinical rotation, with BLS preferred and a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care within a team

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Supports the nurse in applying the nursing process under RN guidance.
• Develops critical thinking with the RN to ensure quality patient care delivery.
• Provides basic patient care including vitals, hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Documents patient data accurately and timely for care delivery.
• Escalates concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
