Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student for the Progressive Care Unit at West Hospital. The role provides hands-on patient care under the guidance of an RN, with responsibilities spanning vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and documentation.

The student will participate in nursing processes, patient assessment, and hand-offs while developing clinical skills in a supportive, faith-based environment with strong teamwork and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Supports the nurse in applying the nursing process under direction of the RN.
• Record vital signs and document care accurately.
• Provide basic patient care including hygiene, mobility, feeding and hydration.
• Communicate clearly with the healthcare team and report changes to the RN.
• Ensure compassionate, patient-centered care and high-quality customer service.
