Job summary

Mercy Health Anderson Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student to support patient care in the Progressive Care Unit under RN guidance. This role provides foundational clinical experience through shadowing and hands-on care aligned with policies and regulatory standards.

You will assist with basic patient care, document accurately, and participate in hand-offs while developing critical thinking and communication skills in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
• BLS (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support the nurse in applying the nursing process under supervision.
• Develop critical thinking through collaboration with the RN.
• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vitals, hygiene, and mobility.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Participate in hand-off reports and shift change communications.
