Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student at Lourdes Hospital to gain hands-on clinical experience under RN guidance. The role provides exposure through shadowing and hands-on patient care aligned with nursing scope and institutional policies.

The position emphasizes collaboration with the healthcare team, safety, documentation, and patient-centered care while developing critical thinking and professional skills.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing process under RN supervision.
• Develop critical thinking through collaboration with the RN.
• Provide basic patient care including hygiene, vital signs, mobility, nutrition and hydration.
• Report changes or concerns to the nurse promptly.
• Deliver high level customer service to patients and family.
• Document patient care accurately and timely.
• Support hand-off reports and unit needs on arrival and departure.
• Perform delegated tasks after competency is validated.
• Assist in data collection (vital signs, intake/output).
• Support patient mobility and activities of daily living.
