Job summary

Olathe Medical Pavilion C is seeking a Clinical Nurse (RN) to join the Resource Team/Float Pool. This full-time position delivers holistic patient care, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and serves as a resource and mentor within the unit.

The RN will provide direct care, triage, and patient education while upholding safety and quality standards. Required licensure in Kansas or compact license, CPR/BLS, and ADN/BSN progression as noted.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• Nurses hired after Sep 1, 2026 must sign an ADN-to-BSN agreement and complete BSN within five years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital policies related to medication safety, including order writing format, correct administration considerations, double checks and other established policies and practices.
• Answers patient/significant others phone calls, evaluate patient's needs, and triage patient care.
• Anticipates and intervenes in an appropriate and timely manner when there are concerns related to patient and staff safety.
• Consistently meets work schedule.
• Consistently role models individualized therapeutic communication based upon patient and family psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs.
• Coordinates health care services with hospital, vendors, physician's offices and other institutions.
• Delegates appropriately according to task, level of expertise and functions as an independent and supportive team member; leads in building a thriving environment.
• Demonstrates critical thinking utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
• Develops, implements and evaluates plan of care that recognizes changes in the patient's condition and adapts plan as needed.
• Identifies area for professional growth.
• Independently performs a comprehensive assessment to provide effective patient care for a given population.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients.
• Performs nursing assessments and triage of patient care needs for new and ongoing patients.
• Provides direct nursing care including chemotherapy and oncology treatments as prescribed.
• Provides patient/family education using available resources.
• Seeks out additional learning experiences within the practice area.
