Qualifications

• RN with BSN required and Kansas licensure.
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, or 2 years nursing experience by specialty area.
• ACLS certification required; BLS Heartsaver (non-clinical) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care priorities.
• Collaborates and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments specific to the unit.
• Develops and updates the patient plan of care; documents per policy.
• Evaluates interventions and revises the care plan as needed.
• Follows policies to provide safe patient care (med admin, handoffs, etc.).
• Implements the plan of care using available resources and evidence.
• Incorporates patient and family teaching into daily care; involve them in goals.
• Participates in unit/department quality improvement activities.
• Mentors staff; provides skills labs and resources to clinical staff.
• Has schedule flexibility to support 24/7 staffing.
