Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Float Team at the Olathe Medical Pavilion A ambulatory clinic. The LPN coordinates care with physicians and team members, applying nursing processes to promote health and provide patient support within Kansas Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient preparation, EMR documentation, scheduling, referrals, and patient education under RN/MD guidance.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse graduation from an accredited LPN program.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and prepares them for examination or procedure; records health history and vitals.
• Administers medications (IM, SC, oral) as ordered; observes and reports patient responses to therapies.
• Assist with supplies, equipment, and support physician during treatment and testing.
• Ensure accurate chart entries and timely chart forwarding.
• Assist with scheduling tests and referrals; obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
• Collect and deliver lab specimens; enter results in EMR as needed.
• Notify patients of results and follow-up appointments; educate per RN/MD guidance.
• Review medications and post-visit instructions with patients/families.
• Screen calls for referrals to RN or physician; coordinate pre-visit planning via EMR.
