Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager to lead the 13-bed CCU and 4-bed SICU within a Level III Trauma Center, driving clinical excellence, patient safety, and staff engagement.

You will mentor a diverse team, oversee staffing, scheduling, infection prevention, and quality initiatives, and promote Shared Governance while advancing professional development and interprofessional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
• One year of formal nursing leadership experience (external candidates)
• Preferred Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
• Two years of demonstrated informal leadership experience for internal candidates, which may include roles such as Charge Nurse, Lead Nurse, or participation in Shared Governance Councils

The Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 13-bed Intensive Care Unit with an additional 4-bed Surgical ICU located within a Level III Trauma Center. Our unit is recognized for its commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and continuous process improvement, all in support of delivering exceptional patient outcomes and experiences.

Clinical Nurse Manager Overview

As the leader of this dynamic department, the Clinical Nurse Manager will oversee a highly engaged team caring for a diverse population of critically ill and high-acuity patients who require advanced assessment skills, intensive monitoring, and complex clinical interventions. The manager will play a key role in driving quality initiatives, operational effectiveness, patient safety, workforce development, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The CCU has a strong culture of shared governance and professional empowerment, with team members actively participating in decisions that influence staffing, scheduling, workflow design, infection prevention initiatives, patient care delivery models, staff education, and multidisciplinary quality review processes. The Clinical Nurse Manager will foster this culture while mentoring, developing, and inspiring a high-performing team. Scope of work

The Clinical Nurse Manager is an experienced leader responsible for managing assigned areas and services and supervising assigned patient care staff to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative and clinical standards, and policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager serves as a chief retention and safety officer. He/she ensures that safety and quality standards are upheld by effective use of data and technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility. The Nurse Manager creates and ensures a desirable, safe work environment that enables the organization to meet or exceed its mission and goals. He/she models the way to foster communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients and other departments.
