Job summary

Halifax Health in Port Orange is seeking a Clinical Educator to lead assessment, design, delivery and evaluation of orientation and ongoing education for the nursing workforce across inpatient settings. Qualifications

• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• 5 years of nursing, clinical educator, or nursing instructor experience.
• 2 years’ experience in development and design of education/training curriculum and staff development for a healthcare workforce.
• Knowledge of learning principles and theories.
• Ability to design and develop instructional strategies.
• Knowledge of learning objectives, curriculum and program development; accreditation standards for nursing competency.
• Evaluation skills to assess education content and relevancy to learners and regulatory requirements.
• Content synthesis to gather content and create education/training materials with SMEs.
• Classroom presentation methods in adult learning settings.
• Project management methodologies for large-scale educational initiatives.
• Research skills in education.
• Adheres to Cornerstone principles; champions for service excellence.
• Assesses educational needs for the health system or units.
• Plans and implements staff education for new policies, equipment, and performance improvement.
• Collaborates with other educators to design programs needing innovative teaching.
• Develops orientation plans with nursing leadership.
• Assists in staff development via assessment and evaluation of programs.
• Interacts with vendors for demonstrations of new equipment.
• Provides individual instruction as necessary.
• Documents staff participation and continuing education records.
• Maintains documentation for continuing education, BLS, ACLS, and labs.
• Facilitates unit-specific patient education.
• Provides direct patient care to develop staff skills when needed.
• Participates in policy/procedure development and unit committees.
• Maintains knowledge base in specialty area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
