Endeavor Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role drives unit function, serves as a nursing resource, and supports admissions, transfers, and bed management while ensuring staffing and patient care standards.

The RN will mentor staff, participate in quality/improvement initiatives, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient throughput and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• Two years experience as a Staff Nurse.
• Clinical nursing skills, effective communication, teaching and motivational skills.
• Specialty Board Certification within 2 years of promotion.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois. Certification in area of expertise preferred.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse designated to facilitate the functioning of the unit.
• Functions as a resource person for the nursing staff and medical staff.
• Collaborates with admitting, Bed Coordinator, and Supervisor to facilitate timely admissions and transfers.
• Makes rounds on patients and monitors condition/changes.
• Facilitates bed control on a unit basis and assists with discharge planning.
• Participates in Nursing DIG Committee to improve patient throughput.
• Ensures adequate coverage and plans unit assignments based on staffing and competency.
• Delegates admissions/transfers to appropriate RN and oversees staff assignments.
• Delegates tasks to CNA and Unit Secretary; provides feedback.
• Coordinates unit assignments and stat cleaning needs.
• Participates in staff evaluation processes and orientation of new employees.
• Functions as a member of Rapid Response and Stroke Team protocols.
