Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• Two years experience as a Staff Nurse.
• Clinical nursing skills, effective communication, teaching and motivational skills.
• Specialty Board Certification within 2 years of promotion.
• Current Illinois RN license; certification in area of expertise preferred.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, delegate, and communicate on clinical and operational issues; report to Unit Manager.
• Act as a resource to nursing and medical staff.
• Facilitate admissions/transfers planning with Bed Coordinator or Supervisor.
• Make rounds and monitor patient conditions.
• Assist with bed control and timely discharges.
• Participate in Nursing DIG Committee to improve patient throughput.
• Ensure appropriate unit coverage based on census and RN/patient ratio.
• Delegate tasks to RNs and non‑professional staff; supervise and provide feedback.
• Coordinate codes and problem-solve nursing care issues.
• Communicate with other departments about patient needs.
