Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in Evanston to oversee unit operations, staff coordination, and patient throughput. The role requires strong clinical nursing skills, leadership, and collaboration with admitting and bed management teams.

The position offers a sign-on bonus for experienced nurses, a full-time schedule with rotating shifts, and comprehensive benefits. RNs in Illinois must hold an active license and be prepared for performance-based evaluations.

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
Two (2) years experience as a Staff Nurse.
Clinical nursing skills, effective communication, teaching and motivational skills.
Specialty Board Certification within 2 years of promotion.
Current license as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
Certification in area of expertise preferred.
American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

Facilitate functioning of the unit as a Registered Nurse designated for coordination.
Serve as a resource to staff with excellent clinical skills.
Coordinate, delegate, communicate, and think critically on clinical and operational issues; report to Unit Manager.
Act as a resource for nursing and medical staff; collaborate with admitting, Bed Coordinator, and Supervisor for admissions/transfers.
Make rounds on patients and monitor conditions.
Facilitate bed control by contacting physicians for discharge orders and assist timely discharges.
Participate in Nursing DIG Committee to improve patient throughput.
Ensure adequate coverage based on census, acuity, and RN: patient ratio.
Plan unit assignments based on staffing and competency.
Delegate admissions/transfers to appropriate RN; adjust care assignments as needed.
Delegate tasks to CNA and Unit Secretary; provide feedback.
Oversee unit assessments (e.g., crash cart checks; temperature checks).
Prioritize bed clean-up; identify stat cleaning needs.
Participate in staff evaluation and performance feedback.
Orient agency personnel to unit; provide ongoing feedback.
Participate in Rapid Response and Stroke Team protocols.
