Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role is full-time with rotating shifts Monday–Friday, no weekends, and a sign-on bonus based on experience.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will lead unit operations, coordinate admissions/transfers, round on patients, and ensure proper bed management and staff deployment. Illinois RN license and 2 years as a Staff Nurse are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing, with a Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• Two (2) years experience as a Staff Nurse.
• Clinical nursing skills, effective communication, teaching and motivational skills.
• American Heart Association CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the functioning of the unit as a Registered Nurse designated for coordination.
• Act as a resource to staff and demonstrate excellent clinical skills.
• Coordinate, delegate, communicate, and think critically on clinical and operational issues; report to the Unit Manager.
• Serve as a resource person for nursing and medical staff.
• Collaborate with admitting, Bed Coordinator, and Supervisor for timely admissions and transfers.
• M ake rounds on patients and monitor condition changes.
• Facilitate bed control by coordinating with physicians for discharge orders.
• Participate in Nursing DIG Committee to improve patient throughput.
• Ensure adequate unit coverage considering census and RN:patient ratio.
• Plan unit assignments based on staffing and competency.
• Delegate admissions/transfers to appropriate RNs and supervise non-professional staff.
• Oversee unit tasks (e.g., crash cart checks, temperature checks).
• Provide feedback and participate in staff evaluations and performance reviews.
• Orient agency personnel to the unit and give feedback to them and the Unit Manager.
• Participate in Rapid Response and Stroke Team protocols when applicable.
