Job summary

St. David's Medical Center in Austin, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate unit activities during the assigned shift.

You will collaborate with management and mentor staff to support nursing strategies and outcomes. You will oversee admissions/discharges, staffing, and service improvements while upholding policy and clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• ACLS within 6 months of start date.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Core (ENPC) within 1 year of start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days of start date.
• PALS within 2 years of start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high-quality care.
• Monitors and evaluates nursing care in collaboration with management.
• Collaborates with managers to create teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Supports patient-first philosophy and service recovery when needed.
• Implements nursing strategies (rounding, hourly rounds) to boost engagement.
• Screens interviewing, staffing, and training needs; supports performance reviews and policy compliance.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor according to patient care needs.
• Supports inventory control and equipment management.
