Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under a provider, room patients, take vital signs, document histories, and verify medication lists in the EHR. The role requires following AHN protocols and may include scribing and clerical duties.

Responsibilities include back-office testing, assisting with examinations, and ensuring inventory and supplies are maintained. Travel between physician offices may be required; a Medical Assistant program or equivalent is

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED; completion of a Medical Assistant program.
Certification within 120 days of hire if required by AHN policy.
Experience with EHRs and essential clinical workflows is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient care under supervision of the provider using a team-based approach.
Prepare rooms, take vital signs, document patient information and medical history.
Review medication lists in the EHR and assist with screenings and renewals.
Perform back-office testing and assist with examinations and procedures.
May serve as a scribe and handle clerical duties and inventory.
May travel between AHN locations as needed.
