Job summary

US-Foot-and-Ankle-Specialist is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patients in a fast-paced clinic. You will assist with exams, minor procedures, X-rays, and post-operative care across local offices, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant documentation.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of experience, CMA/RMA certification preferred, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft 365. Travel between local locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and clinic software.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
