Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and patients in a fast-paced foot and ankle practice. You will welcome patients, document in EMR, take vitals, and assist with minor procedures including X-rays and post-op care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience, and CMA/RMA certification is a plus. You’ll work across local office locations and use Microsoft 365 daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience required.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork and multitasking skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment.
• Detail-oriented, professional and patient-focused.
• Ability to travel between local office locations as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services.
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make postoperative calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
