Job summary

US Foot and Ankle Specialists in Raleigh, NC seeks a Medical Assistant to support doctors and patients in a fast-paced podiatry office. You will prepare patients for exams, take vitals, and assist with minor procedures, including digital X-rays and post-op care.

The role requires a MA program or 1+ year clinical experience, high school diploma, and strong communication skills. CMA/RMA certification is preferred. Travel between local offices may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service.
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance.
