Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our podiatry practice. You will work alongside our podiatrists, providing hands-on patient care and supporting physicians in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You'll receive hands-on training and ongoing clinical development, making this a great opportunity for someone with CMA/RMA certification or looking to grow their clinical skills. This role requires traveling between local office locations as needed and proficiency with

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred.
  • Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures.
  • Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR.
  • Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting).
  • Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education.
  • Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed.
  • Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
  • Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
  • Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
