Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform rooming and visit tasks, including vital signs, history intake, and screenings. The role supports providers with procedures, venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT per orders, while administering medicines and vaccines per safety protocols.

The position requires completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent military training, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work within a busy clinic environment; on-site duties

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
• Wake Forest, IL/WI, Floyd & Navicent descriptions indicate program/completion requirements similar to MA role.

Mansioni

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen handling, and basic POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is in working order.
• Communicates effectively with the team and escalates when needed.
