Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple facilities. You will perform vital signs, medical history review, rooming tasks, and assist with procedures under provider supervision.

The role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military training, high school diploma, and strong communication skills. BLS/clinical competencies are expected where applicable.

Qualifications

• Two years of Medical Assistant experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of clinical lab procedures and patient safety

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies
• Performs vital signs and patient rooming tasks
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered
• Performs venipuncture and specimen handling including POCT
• Administers medications and vaccines safely
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals
• Maintains clean work environment and stocked supplies
• May assist with training and onboarding of teammates
• Ensures age-appropriate care per department standards
