Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care across multiple clinic sites. You will perform vital signs, rooming, charting and assist providers with procedures, while adhering to CLIA and safety standards.

The role requires completing an accredited MA program or equivalent military/EMT training, a high school diploma, and current BLS certification. You will work in a fast-paced team focused on quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training in lieu of MA program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required depending on division.
• Experience with electronic medical records and basic lab procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vitals, medical history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and lab duties, including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Handles administrative tasks: refills, referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.
• Cross trained for clinic-specific duties and maintains a clean, stocked work environment.
