Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in accordance with scope of practice. You will perform rooming tasks, assist with procedures, and handle lab duties such as venipuncture and POCT.

The role includes administering medications and vaccines, scheduling, referrals, and maintaining a safe, clean clinical area. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent military training in lieu.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214/structured military training in lieu.
• BLS certification where required by location.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties (venipuncture, POCT).
• Administers medications and vaccines per the rights of administration.
• Performs other duties: refills, authorizations, messaging, scheduling, referrals.
• Makes sure environment is clean, stocked, and equipment works.
