Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting. The role requires CMA or RMA certification and completion of an eligible Medical Assistant program.

The successful candidate will document patient information in the EMR, assist with rooming, EKGs, wound care, specimen collection, and medications according to policy. This is a full-time on-site position with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Certified by one of the listed governing associations: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents patient information using the rooming tool in the EMR.
• Sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases.
• Assists patients to prepare for visits and maintains safety and privacy.
• Performs EKGs, wound dressings, and supports provider during minor procedures.
• Prepares and administers medications per policy (no IV administration).
• Performs phlebotomy and collects laboratory specimens as directed.
