Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our outpatient clinic team. The role focuses on direct patient care, rooming, and EMR documentation under provider supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, basic wound care, EKGs, phlebotomy, and coordinating with clinic staff.

The ideal candidate is a CMA or RMA, graduate of an accredited program, and eligible for certification with recognized associations. Full time schedule with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Certified by one of the listed governing associations required: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient information, vital signs, visit reason, medication review, and documentation in the EMR using the rooming tool.
• Sets up examination and treatment rooms between patients.
• Assists patients to prepare for visits and ensures safety and privacy.
• Performs EKGs, wound care, and supports provider during minor procedures.
• Administers medications per policy (no IV meds).
• Completes lab tests and prepares specimens as ordered.
