Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support clinical staff in a busy primary care setting. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with patient flow, document vitals and medical history, and help with clerical tasks to ensure smooth patient care.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least two years of direct patient care, and BLS certification. Expect a 40-hour work week with competitive pay and benefits; on-site work at our Hopewell, Virginia facilities.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
• Ability to document and maintain patient care records.
• Special training: vital signs, medical terminology, basic data entry, and medical record management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms for patient encounters and assist providers.
• Direct patients to examination rooms and help with examinations.
• Record patient history, medications, treatments and problem lists.
• Input data into registration, EMR and scheduling systems accurately.
• Assist with clerical duties including registration, billing, phones and scheduling.
