Job summary

Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, MT is seeking an RN to fill a Clinical Expanded Role as a service line specialist. This full-time position emphasizes leading clinical projects, education, and research within the designated area. Shifts are nights, 1900–0730.

Requirements include 2+ years in critical care with ACLS and BLS; PALS and TNCC must be obtained within 6 months of hire. BSN preferred; must mentor staff and promote evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified). RN hires/promoted into this role must obtain BSN within four years of hire/promotion date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
• Unit specific certification as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, etc.).(Applicants must obtain these within timeframe determined by service line)
• One year of clinical nursing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in assigned clinical area.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in specialty areas; participates in clinical programs and policy development; supports standardization of care protocols.
• Educate and mentor nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on best practices and new developments in the specialty area. Uses research to improve nursing practice and develop care standards.
• Represents department on committees and works with healthcare team to coordinate and optimize patient care. Acts as consultant and liaison to healthcare team, patients, families, and community.
• Promotes and integrates evidence-based practices into clinical care, staying current with latest research and advancements in the specialty area.
• Directs and coordinates care team; provides or delegates care according to plan and licensure guidelines; manages time, supplies, and resources.
• Promotes nursing profession; integrates legal and ethical standards; practices within scope of licensure, complies with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.
• Uses assessment data and critical thinking to develop individualized care plans; involves patients, families, and team members.
• Reviews patient response to interventions; revises care plans as needed based on goal achievement and satisfaction.
