Job summary

Liberty Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLT/CLS to perform clinical laboratory procedures and quality assurance, including instrument maintenance. This role analyzes specimens and provides data for diagnosis and treatment across all age groups while ensuring safe and efficient laboratory services.

You will interact with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies, upholding strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with concentration in medical technology or related field preferred.
• Clinical competence in medical technology preferred
• Medical Technology Certification required by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT. Annual recertification preferred
• Advanced clinical laboratory testing skills in blood banking, chemistry, bacteriology, hematology, and serology; minimum of one year experience; basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance and instrument maintenance.
• Analyze specimens and obtain data for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• Provide safe and efficient laboratory services to neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.
• Communicate with medical staff and other departments while maintaining confidentiality.
• May provide day-to-day direction to five (5) technical and skilled personnel; reports to Laboratory Supervisor/Director of Laboratory Services.
