Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and report tests on blood and body fluids. The role requires an associate degree and completion of an accredited MLT program or ASCP eligibility, with entry-level clinical lab experience preferred.

You will maintain specimen integrity, operate LIS, and support phlebotomy and other lab duties. Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and excellent customer service is essential in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• Completion of an accredited MLT program, MLT (ASCP) or registry eligible.
• Entry-level experience in clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, decision-making and investigative skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform, evaluate and report results on blood and body fluid specimens.
• Maintain specimen integrity per test requirements and QA standards.
• Maintain records and report test information via LIS.
• Assist in phlebotomy, CPA, and telecommunications as needed.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, HFAP, OSHA and HIPAA standards.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and customer service.
• Work with others to support a safe patient care environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
