Job summary

Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to perform diverse laboratory analyses across Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Blood Bank. You will ensure accurate, reliable, and timely test results and support communications with clinicians and patients.

The role requires California CLS licensure, a relevant Bachelor’s degree, and excellence in English communication.

Qualifications

• Current California CLS license required.
• Bachelor-level degree in a biological science or related field required.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work variable shifts and overtime as needed.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Knowledge of hospital computer systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized and specialized analyses in Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology and Blood Bank.
• Ensure accuracy, reliability and timeliness of patient test results.
• Maintain quality control documentation and instrument calibration records.
• Adhere to HIPAA, infection control procedures and regulatory standards.
• Communicate results clearly to medical staff and patients as appropriate.
• Participate in process improvements and resolve test performance issues.
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in interactions with patients and families.
