Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical science per CLIA requirements, upon hire.
• Strong scientific foundation and advanced technical proficiency in lab work.
• Ability to perform, interpret and verify complex diagnostic tests with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderately complex, and highly complex tests on patient specimens per SOPs to ensure accurate reporting.
• Provides patient care through clinical correlation of results, rapid notification of critical values, and timely testing within turn-around times.
• Maintains major automated equipment through calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting, including vendor contact as needed.
• Performs calibration and quality control procedures and keeps records of testing within established parameters.
• Participates in proficiency testing and reviews results with laboratory leaders.
• Assists in evaluation and documentation for validation of new procedures and equipment.
• Required: Bachelor of Science in biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA, upon hire.
