Qualifications

• BS in biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• Strong scientific foundation and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to perform complex laboratory tests and ensure accuracy and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens adhering to SOPs to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Provides excellent patient care through clinical correlation of results and rapid notification of caregivers of critical values.
• Ensures major automated equipment is operational by maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting procedures; including contacting vendors for assistance or repair.
• Performs required calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are within parameters.
• Performs proficiency testing as assigned and reviews results with laboratory leaders.
• Assists in evaluation and validation of new procedures and equipment to provide physicians with current laboratory technology.
