Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, biological sciences, chemical sciences or allied health technologies or equivalent: Required
• Clinical laboratory experience: Preferred
• Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in CA: Required
• ASCP or NCA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Employs positive patient identification procedures to ensure the integrity of each specimen for pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing.
• Performs various testing (chemistry, coagulation, hematology, serology, microbiology, blood bank, urinalysis and more) following QA policies and procedures.
• Reviews results for accuracy, correlates with diagnoses, expedites critical values to clinicians.
• Performs equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration, inventories and restocks reagents and supplies.
• Orients, instructs and supervises laboratory staff as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
